Judah Katz is a partner concentrating his practice in the areas of Estate Planning and Corporate Law.
In his estate planning work, Judah is experienced in meeting the needs of both middle-class families as well as families with more sophisticated needs, such as GRATs and Family Limited Partnerships. He has extensive probate law experience, having efficiently shepherded many cases through the Orphan’s Courts of Maryland.
Judah also advises small and medium-sized businesses in all areas of corporate formation, corporate governance, contracts, and corporate dispute resolution, including the formation of start-ups, spin-offs from mature enterprises, or via mergers or acquisitions. He handles all stages of the process, including due diligence, entity-type selection, operating agreements, shareholder agreements, employment agreements, non-compete and non-disclosure agreements, vendor contracts, and the like. He also serves as general counsel to numerous companies, offering regular advice on all aspects of the business lifecycle, including business disputes and business wrap-up.
Prior to founding Neuman & Katz, Judah represented a wide variety of estate planning and business clients as an associate at a boutique law firm in Maryland. Judah is a graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he served as a student attorney in the Tax Clinic advising and representing clients with tax controversies before the State of Maryland and the Internal Revenue Service. Judah also served as a judicial intern for Judge Lynne Battaglia of the Maryland Court of Appeals.
